Dieuwertje was born on December 20th, 1795 in Hoogkarspel.  Dieuwertje's father was Jan Dirksz Kuijn / Kuin and her mother was Trijntje Klaas Stam.  Her paternal grandparents were Dirk Kuin and Vrouw / Moeder; her maternal grandparents were Klaas / Claas Klaasz Stam and Antje / Aatje Claas Ham (Hams?). She had three brothers and five sisters, named Cornelis, SImon, Pieter, Antje, Dieuwertje, Aafje, Aafje and Grietje.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 49 on May 19th, 1845 in Grootebroek.1
