Geesje was born about 1799.  Geesje's father was Jan van Hesselingen and her mother was Margaretha Colthoff / Kolthoff.  Her paternal grandparents were Pieter / Peter Wolters van Hesselingen and Geesje / Geesjen Geerts / Gerrits de Vries (Vriese). She had six brothers and two sisters, named Pieter, Juriaan, Juriaan , Johannes, Gerrit, Willem, Margaretha and Johanna Cornelia.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  She died on September 27th, 1849 in Wormerveer.1
