Jacob was born on July 10th, 1760 in Hoorn.  Jacob's father was Joris / Jooris / Josua Boon and his mother was Marijtje Hendriks / Henderiks Blender / Blenders / Brender.  His maternal grandfather was Hendrik Blender / Blenders / Brender. He had a brother and two sisters, named Frederik "Jacob" , Steijntje / Stijntje and Apolonia.  He was the oldest of the four children.
