Emulous was born on October 15th, 1868 in Tennessee. Emulous' father is Benjamin (Dock) Franklin Corn and his mother was Ellen Middleton (Corn). His paternal grandfather was Noah Parr Corn and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Capps (Corn); his maternal grandparents are Kenson Middleton and N Beck (Middleton). He had three brothers and seven sisters, named Adinoran, Hilliard, Virgil, Mariam, Elsira, Emily, Tassrie, Minnie, Samantha and Carrie. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 68 on March 23rd, 1937 in Easley, SC. He was buried at the Pickens View Cemetery.
