Roma was born on December 24th, 1911 in Magill, Adelaide, SA.1 Roma's father was William Palmer Ambrose OCKENDEN and her mother was Eva Rosina McINNESS. Her paternal grandparents were William Marshall OCKENDEN and Mary Elizabeth BARRETT. She had two sisters named Phyllis and Madge. She was the youngest of the three children.-
