Josiah was born on May 23rd, 1865 in Kadina, SA.1   Josiah's father was Charles William ANTHONY and his mother was Elizabeth BENNETTO.  His paternal grandparents were Josiah ANTHONY and Anne HOCKING; his maternal grandparents were Thomas BENNETTO and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Frederick, Frederick, Mary, Emma and Elizabeth.  He was the youngest of the six children.
