Male Gilbert Illsley

Gilbert was born on October 18th, 1818 in Parish Church, Blackfordby, Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire/Derbyshire, England.1   Gilbert's father was Gilbert Illsley and his mother was Hannah Oldner.  His paternal grandparents were Henry Illsley and Elizabeth Bath. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Gilbert, William, Elizabeth, Catherine, Maria and Mary.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 52 on March 30th, 1871 in Parish Church, Blackfordby, Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire/Derbyshire, England.2

Gilbert and Sarah were married in a religious ceremony on December 11th, 1838 in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire/Derbyshire, England.3   They had ten sons and three daughters, named William, Thomas, Gilbert, Oliver, Arthur, Matthew, Jonathan, Alexander, Paul, Elijah John, Edith Taylor, Mary Edith and Alice Amelia.
