I originally had her only name as Widow Russell, from Martins marriage record at St. Francis de Salle, stating Widow Russell. In the 1871 census though, it shows Martin 60, with Ellen, 50, and Maria, Catherine, Thaomas and Ellen still at home.
Her obit which was in the Rideau Recorder stated that, "she went to bed fine but she was stiff and cold when someone went to awake her. Her husband died 2 years ago."
The article also stated:
"Several grown up son's daughter's, including Mrs. Francis Hourigan, of Smith Falls."
This is key in my opinion, because as of 2001, I have not fully proved how Martin was related. I have long thought that Martin was a brother to Thomas Kenny. Thomas DEFINITELY had a daughter, Mary Kenny, who married Francis Hourigan and is above mentioned. I have the church records showing this marriage and it shows the parents being Thomas and Ellen Kenny.
This article is, no doubt, a mistake, but nonetheless, shows a close relationship, maybe a niece
When her husband died, in the church records showed 2 witnesses. Francis Hourigan and a Michael King.
