His paternal grandparents were Richard KENNY and Mary CAHILL; his maternal grandparents were Peter CASSIDY and Bridget (Biddy) DEEGAN. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Richard, Bartholemew, Thomas, Peter James, Adele and May. He was the third oldest of the seven children.
