In 2018, i discovered that there was definately, a Jeremiah Hourigan that had the son Michael. This is key, because, records show this Jerimiah was from County Limerick.from the Parish of Knockainy, west. map reference, 35 - a.
On Michaels obit, it stated he was from County Clare, but I dont think that is true.
There was also a reference on Michaels death certificate, (all of these documents are on my ancestry tree) that stateed from Michaels 3rd wife, that Michael was from county Limerick. I changed his placxe of birth in 2018 to Limerick, after having it in my files for decades as Clare.
May of had a brother named James, died Jan 1 1883, age73yrs, 5 mo., who came from County Clare, Ireland in the 1830's The RR showed a Mrs James (Ellen O'Reilly) of S. Elmsly 1817-1896, dead, leaving 9 children.
In his Death record, a witness, Mrs M Hourigan, I am guessing , his 3rd wife, state she was from County Limerick, Ireland. His actual Obit states Clare.
In 1851, he lived next door to Martin Kenny.
May have had a brother John Abt (1832- 1898) See the Rideau Record notes.
The Rideau recorder showed in Micheals Obit the following;
