Sponsers at his baptism were Ned Balfe and Mary Doyle
In the St. Francis de Salle records, there was a Nicholas Balfe married to Catherine Calig? on Aug. 26, 1855. The date would match his age, but no proof that this is the same Nicholas. There were many Nicholas Balfes in this area.

Dave Allatt says:
Nicholas Balfe, born Abt. 1834 in Parkmore Townland, Co. Wicklow, Ireland; died Bef. 1843 in
Carnew, Co. Wicklow, Ireland.
Notes for Nicholas Balfe:
Baptismal register for Tomacork RC Parish, Carnew, Co. Wicklow states that on 12th May 1834 Nick. of
John Balf & Ally Dobs of Parkmore, baptized. Ss. (Sponsors) Ned Balf & Mary Doyle. There was a note
indicating Nick was a twin of Patt.
Since there was a second Nicholas baptized (on 6th August 1843) to John Balfe and Ally Dobbs, it has
been assumed that this Nicholas died before 1843.
