Bo Tan's father was Ing Tjiang Liem and her mother was Gampang.  Her maternal grandparents were Ing Hien Kwee and Bini Tua (Ambarawa). She has three brothers and a sister, named Gay Bing, Gay Joe, Gay Liang and Siok.
