Alda Eugênia's father was Julio César de Miranda Monteiro de Barros and her mother was Emiliana de Souza Breves.  Her maternal grandparents were Comendador Luiz de Souza Breves and Maria Pimenta de Almeida Breves. She had six brothers and six sisters, named Luiz, Júlio César, José, Joaquim, Aurélio, Alberto, Alice, Maria Clara, Cornélia Júlia, Rita Clara, Emiliana and Hermínea.
