João de Barros Carvalho 
João's father was Horácio Leite Gomes de Carvalho and his mother was Maria Teresa Monteiro de Barros. His maternal grandparents were Luiz de Souza Monteiro de Barros and Maria Leite de Abreu Couto. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Horácio, Rogerio, Marta, Marieta and Lúcia.
