Matthew and Caroline were married in a religious ceremony on September 27th, 1833 in Kirtling, Cambridgeshire, , England.1   They had four sons and five daughters, named David Pettitt, James Sidney, James Sydney, Henry, Eliza, Tamar, Mary Ann, Sarah and Emma Lydia.
