William was born on March 31st, 1751 in kirtling,   cambridgeshire.1   William's father is Henry PLEDGER.  His paternal grandparents were William Pledger and Martha BUNTING. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Henry, Thomas, thomas, robert, Robert, john, john, eliz abeth, Elizabeth and Mary.  He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 71 on May 1st, 1822 in Kirtling,  Cambridgeshire,  ,  England.
