Jean II Vieusseux

Jean II was born in 1692 in Saint-Antonin en Rouergue. Jean II's father was Jacques Vieusseux and his mother was Jeanne Villeneuve. His paternal grandparents were David Vieusseux and Françoise Mordaigne; his maternal grandparents were Durand Villeneufre and Marguerite de Just. He had three brothers and a sister, named Jean, Pierre, François and Françoise. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 60 on May 24th, 1752 in Albi, Tarn. He was buried on May 25th, 1752 in Albi, Tarn.

General Notes
- Employs J.B. Sudre as an apprentice in 1728. He works for the Monastery of the Nuns of Fargues in 1735. He makes an incenser weighing 2 marcs 2 onces2 gros for the Jacobin Convent in 1742, for which he is paid 123 livres 10 sols., materials, finishings and rights included. AD.HG.B19 According to Emile Jolibois, the Nuns of Fargues had entrusted him with the reconditioning of the Virgin of the 14th century, which had been given to the Priory by its founder Beraud de Fargues; there were precious stones on the Virgin and child; angels were supporting the seat the bottom of which was sheltering the four Evangelists inder arcades. The statue weighed 72 marcs was lost in the Revolution.
