Lluis was born on March 5th, 1779 in La Pobla de Montornes.  His godfather was Lluis Colet de la Trumella.  Lluis' father was Benet Colet Esplugues and his mother is Magina Ferrer.  His paternal grandparents were Lluis Colet and Gertrudis Esplugues Calvet. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Pere, Pau, Josep, Maria, Rosa and Teresa.  He died at the age of 79 on January 27th, 1859 in Sant Jaume dels Domenys.
