Martha Paterson was born on June 12th, 1866 in Forgue, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 Martha Paterson's father was Alexander Wishart and her mother was Agnes Watt. Her paternal grandparents were Alexander Wishart and Alicia Ann Taylor. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Alexander Watt, Walter Taylor, John Christie, Alicia Gordon, Agnes Gertrude and Mary Anne. She was the oldest of the seven children.-
