Ellen Elizabeth was born on July 7th, 1855 in Rose Bay,  NSW, Australia and her baptism took place in August 1855 in St Marks, Rushcutters Bay, NSW, Australia. Ellen Elizabeth's father was George Thorne and her mother was Elizabeth Anne Bisdee.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Thorne  and Maria  Nuttall ; her maternal grandparents were John Bisdee and Ann Green. She had four brothers and five sisters, named George, Theodore Bisdee, Walter Allan, Arthur Edward, Annie Bisdee, Gertrude Mary, Rosalie Ann, Emily Nuttall and Melina Julia.  She was the third youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 82 on April 27th, 1938 in Devonshire, England.  She was buried in Weston Super Mare, Somerset, England.
