Gertrude was born on April 2nd, 1908 in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan, USA. Gertrude's father was Charles Robert Sligh and her mother was Edith Ethelyn Clark. Her paternal grandparents were James Wilson Sligh and Elizabeth (Eliza) Wilson. She had a brother named Charles. She was the younger of the two children. She had three half-sisters named Edith, Loraine and Adeline. She died at the age of 66 in 1974 in Dayton, OH, USA.-
