Douglas A was born in 1908 in Hackney, London, Middlesex, England. Douglas A's father was Arthur Malcolm Rayner and his mother was Gertrude Amelia Hill. His paternal grandparents were James Rayner and Catherine Lambert; his maternal grandparents were William Hill and Kezia Ann Baldwin. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Gordon , David, Kathleen and Constance. He was the oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 67 in 1975 in Ipswich.-
