John Lindsay 
John was born on May 4th, 1849 in Old Monkland, Lanarkshire, Scotland and his christening took place there on June 3rd, 1849. John's father was David Lindsay and his mother was Agnes Thom. His paternal grandparents were John Lindsay and Agnes Bowman; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Thom and Jane Russel. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, George Brown, David, James, Robert, Jane Murray Russell, Agnes Bowman, Janet and Barbara Russell. He was the oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 58 on April 28th, 1908 in Hamilton, Glasgow, Lanarkshire Scotland.-
