John Elder

John was born in November 1789 in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland and his baptism took place on November 22nd, 1789 in Liberton, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.  John's father was John (or William) and his mother was Elizabeth Cleghorn. He had a sister named Catherine.  He was the older of the two children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named John, Margaret, Isobel and Agnes.  He died at the age of 80 on January 29th, 1870 in Rokewood, Victoria, Australia.
