Catherine was born in 1403 in Hooton, Cheshire, England. Catherine's father was Sir William De Stanley and her mother was Margaret (Blanche) Anderne. Her paternal grandparents were William De Stanley and Margaret De Hooton. She had two brothers and three sisters, named William, George, Elizabeth, Margery and Isabel.-
