Marianne was born in 1803 in Crich, Derbyshire, England. Marianne's father was Henry Buxton and her mother was Nanny Wheatcroft. Her maternal grandparents were Abraham Wheatcroft and Ann Turner. She had seven brothers and a sister, named Samuel, German, David , John, William , Abraham, Francis Henry and Olivia . She was the oldest of the nine children.-
