David II was born on March 5th, 1324 in Dunfermline Palace, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.  David II's father was Robert 1 Bruce King of Scotland and his mother was Elizabeth (Ellen) De Burgh of Ulster Queen of Scotland.  His paternal grandparents were Sir Robert de Brus 6th Lord of Annandale 1st Lord Brus Earl of Carrick  and Margaret Marjorie Countess of Carrick; his maternal grandparents were Richard 'the Red' De Burgh 2nd Earl of Ulster and Margaret de Burgo. He had a half-sister named Marjory.  He died at the age of 46 on February 22nd, 1371 in Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Mid-Lothian, Scotland.  He was buried in Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.
