Mrs. Catherine Beath, of Ardoch,. Dandenong Road, St. Kilda (V.), who died last week, was tho widow ot Mr. David Beath, founder of Beath, Schless and Co. Mrs. Beath was born in Tasmania in 1840. Her grandfather had come from England as a naval surgeon In tho days of Governor Arthur. For some years Mrs. Beath lived in London; She leaves one son (Dr. Leslie Beath, of Bath, England) and five daughters Mrs. J. B. Nicholson, of Sydney; Mrs. Jj A. Clark, of Central Alfrica; Mrs. Williamam Elder, of Rokewood; Miss M. Beath, of St. Kilda; and Miss F. Beath, of South India. There are 17 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
