Christopher was born on May 8th, 1844.  Christopher's father was George Blackett and his mother was Ann Robinson.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Blackett and Margaret Eggleston. He had two brothers and two sisters, named George Eggleston, Charles, Margaret and Ann.  He was the youngest of the five children.
