John Beveridge 
John was born on February 11th, 1760 in Habbeshole, Dalgety Bay, Fife. John's father was James Beveridge and his mother was Janet Beveridge. His paternal grandparents were John Beveridge and Grissel (Grisle) Simson (Symsone); his maternal grandparents were James Beveridge and Dorothy Williamson. He had two brothers and two sisters, named James, William, Dorothy and Elisabeth. He was the oldest of the five children.-
