Minnie was born in 1885 in Greenwich, Kent, England.1  Minnie's father was George Ambrose and her mother was Angelina Rumsay.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Ambrose and Ann Unknown; her maternal grandparents were Robert Rumsay and Patience Unknown. She had four brothers and four sisters, named George, Frederick, Herbert, Edward, Florence, Alice, Deborah and Lydia.  She was the youngest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 52 in 1937.
