John Alexander

John was born on March 29th, 1798 in Lasswade, Midlothian, Scotland.  John's father was James Alexander and his mother was Mary Johnston. He had five brothers and two sisters, named James, John, Robert, Alexander, William, Mary and Janet.  He was the third youngest of the eight children.
