“Hi Heather. I am Kari Plattner-Simpkins and I am related to the Lloyd's that you are researching. Lewis Lloyd's father was Frank Benjamin Lloyd and my great grandfather was Theodore "Dorry" Lloyd, Frank's younger brother. Frank also had three sisters: Julia, Sarah (Sallie) and Susie. Two other cousins of ours and myself have been researching our Lloyd line for a couple of years now and I'd be more than happy to share whatever we've been able to find. We are particularly interested in finding Frank's parents, who we assume are Samuel Lloyd and Rebecca Chambers Caleb Lloyd. We know a little about Rebecca, but can find almost nothing on Samuel and I'm wondering if you've had any luck with that. Please, feel free to email me at: karilps@verizon.net anytime and maybe we can compare notes.

A cousin of mine and I have hit a big brick-wall and we could sure use some help.
Susie Lloyd was born abt. 1875 in Chesapeake City, MD and married a Joseph Lloyd (could be a cousin or 2nd cousin and believe his parents were Henry and Anna Lloyd). Her parents were Samuel and Rebecca Lloyd. She had brothers Theodore (went by Dorry) and Frank. She also had sister Sallie that married James Bedwell and another sister Julia that we can't seem to find anything on yet. We have information from her up to the present and most of her siblings. It's her parents that have us stumped. We can't seem to find out who Samuel Lloyd's parents were. Her mother Rebecca's maiden name was Chambers and she was married once before to a James Caleb and had two sons John and Walter Caleb.
Susie and Joseph had children: Milton, Mitchell, Calvin, Earl and a few others and they are both buried in Bethel Cemetary in Chesapeake City.
Also, in an 1880 census where Susie is living with her parents, it also lists a Harrie Truss age 22 born in MD..a sailor..but doesn't give a relationship. Susie's brother Theodore's middle name is Truss and we've been trying to find a connection between the Lloyd's and the Truss's.
If this family sounds familiar to anyone, please feel free to email me. I am a direct descendant of Susie's brother Theodore (Dorry)..he would of been my great grandfather and he married a Kate Battersby.
One other clue is that most of my Lloyd and Battersby men were all captains of barges. Any help and information is greatly appreciated.
