Salome's father was Gottlieb Reinhold Sprecher and her mother was Karolina Hille (Sprecher). Her paternal grandparents were Friedrich Jon “Fred” Sprecher and Louise “Christine” Gruning (Sprecher) Grunning. She had five brothers and four sisters, named John, Daniel, Admont, Edward, Fredrich, Friedricka, Christina, Magdalina and Bertha. She was the fifth oldest of the ten children. She had a half-brother named Emanuel.
