Martin was born on December 9th, 1873 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, USA.1  Martin's father was John H Miller and his mother was Sarah C Miller.  His paternal grandparents were Jacob H Miller and Mary Harbaugh; his maternal grandparents were Frederick H Miller and Suzanna Cassell (Miller). He had a brother and five sisters, named Thomas, Lydia, Gabriel, Belle, Blanche and Hettie.  He was the third oldest of the seven children. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Harry, Joseph, Jesse, Cora, Maude and Bertha.  He died at the age of 42 on November 30th, 1916.1

Martin and Ada were married in a religious & civil ceremony on October 5th, 1906 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, USA.1   They had two daughters named Hazel and Eveline.
