Sarah was born in 1857 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, USA.1  Sarah's father was Jacob Leichliter and her mother was Martha Williams (Leichliter).  Her paternal grandparents were ? Leichliter and ? ? (Leichliter). She had two brothers and a sister, named David, F A and Jemima.  She was the youngest of the four known children.  She died at the age of 79 in 1936.  She was buried at the Mount Olive Cemetery, Bullskin Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, USA.1
