Louise's father was Karl Kautz and her mother was Karolina Wilhelmina Sprecher (Kautz, Hennig). Her maternal grandparents were Gottfried Sprecher and Anna Katharina Sokolosky (Sprecher). She had two brothers and two sisters, named Friedrich, Johann, Maria and Justina. She was the fourth oldest of the five children. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Samuel, Christina, Susanna and Karolina.
