Christina was born on September 5th, 1856 in Leipzig (Leibzig), Bessarabia, Russia (now Ukraine).1  Christina's father was Johann Hennig and her mother was Karolina Wilhelmina Sprecher (Kautz, Hennig).  Her maternal grandparents were Gottfried Sprecher and Anna Katharina Sokolosky (Sprecher). She had a brother and two sisters, named Samuel, Susanna and Karolina.  She was the oldest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Friedrich, Johann, Maria, Louise and Justina.
