Thomas was born in 1791 in Wroxham, Norfolk.1   Thomas' father was Thomas Riseborough and his mother was Susannah Tower. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Robert, John, James, Charles, Thomas, Susannah and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.
