Isabella was born in 1817 in Houghton, Co Durham.¹ Isabella's father was Robert Haswell Hunter and her mother was Hannah Jane Ford. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Alexander, Robert, John, Mary, Hannah and Margaret. She was the oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 61 in 1878 in Easington, Co Durham.
