Ellen Hay

Ellen was born in 1860 in Seaham Harbour, Co Durham.¹ Ellen's father was William S Hay and her mother was Margaret Hunter. Her maternal grandparents were Robert Haswell Hunter and Hannah Jane Ford. She had a brother and two sisters, named Robert, Mary and Margaret. She was the youngest of the four children.
