Francis was born in 1757 in Otley, Yorkshire.1   Francis' father was Francis Mountaine and his mother was Mary Bodes.  His paternal grandparents were Francis Mountaine and Margaret Dunwell. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Francis, Joseph, John, Mary and Issabelah.  He was the third oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 16 in August 1773 in Otley, Yorkshire.1
