James Clift

James was born in 1740 in Cakemore, Worcestershire and his baptism took place on January 18th, 1740 at St Johns, Halesowen, Worcestershire.¹   James' father was James Clift and his mother was Dorothy Williams. He had two brothers named Thomas and Samuel.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William, Joseph, Josiah, Dorothy, Mary and Hannah.
