Yehuda was born in 1908 in Drohobycz.  Yehuda's father was Nechemia Meir and his mother was Rivka Meir (Weiss).  His paternal grandparents were Moses Eliezer Kestenbaum and Zisel Meir; his maternal grandfather was Avraham Yaacov Weiss and his maternal grandmother is Weiss. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Izik, Biniamin, Yakov, Anda and Salka.  He died at the age of 63 in 1971.
