Florence was born in 1898 in Newport Pagnall, Buckinghamshire. Florence's father was Thomas George MOSELEY and her mother was Elizabeth Phoebe MILLS.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas MOSELEY and Hannah BRITTEN. She had three brothers and a sister, named Arthur, William, Edward and Margaret.  She was the second youngest of the five children.
