Thomas was born in 1859 in Shutford, Oxfordshire.¹   Thomas' father was John HUNT and his mother was Alice HUTT.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas HUNT and Maria <UNKNOWN>. He had five brothers and a sister, named William, George, James, Jonathan, Frederick and Emma.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.
