William was born in 1863 in Alveston, Warwickshire.1   William's father was John HARRIS and his mother was Ann MULLIS.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas HARRIS and Mary <UNKNOWN>; his maternal grandparents were Thomas MULLIS and Mary MULLIS. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, George, Sarah, Elizabeth and Mary.  He was the second youngest of the six children.
