Albert was born on April 24th, 1898 in Wigston Magna, Leicester.¹

Albert's father was William Hurd GODDARD and his mother was Clara THOMPSON.  His paternal grandparents were William Hurd GODDARD and Mary VEASEY. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, Alfred, Joseph, Florence, Bertha, Gertrude and Mabel.  He was the third oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 74 in 1972 in Coventry, Warwickshire.¹
