Jane was born in 1859 in Atherstone, Warwickshire.  Jane's father was Charles BRIERLEY and her mother was Jane <UNKNOWN>.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph BRIERLEY and Elizabeth <UNKNOWN>. She had two brothers named Joseph and Thomas.  She was the youngest of the three children.
