Sarah 
Sarah was born in 1810 in Cowfold and her baptism took place there on May 6th, 1810. Sarah's father was Edward Steele and her mother was Lydia. Her maternal grandparents were Henry Gander and Elizabeth Harland. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Edward, Thomas, Thomas, Elizabeth, Sophie, Lydia and Rebecca. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.General Notes
Sarah married Thomas Pooley by banns on 13 November 1845 in Cowfold. He was a widower and carpenter and she a spinster. Their fathers were named as Peter Pooley a labourer and Edward Steele. The witnesses to their marriage were Henry Vinall and Rebecca Steele.
